Las Vegas holiday Parties with Las Vegas Photographer Costellophoto

Lets see who would you invite to your office / Corporate Christmas / Holiday function ? Imagine if you could have any one, I think I'd pick Ozzy Osborne, now sober I have to say his reminiscence would be priceless, and the fact that he now resides ,when back home in England in a lovely little town I grew up in so I could pester him for all the local gossip, like is the chippy  (Fish and chip Shop) still there up by the common ? Do you have any pictures of the old place.
Needless to say every one would want their picture taken with Ozzy so conversation would  be short, but between picture I'm sure I could get some pertinent information from him during our photographic engagement.
You might be wondering about this picture, well it was taken on Fremont St in Las Vegas a few months ago, think it's Ozzy? Well I'm not telling ! Fremont Street is a fabulous place to take people pictures, and boy what a collection you get there on any given night, great photo ops , but you do need a long lens and a can of mace. We at Costellophoto were offered the opportunity to shoot on Fremont on New Years Eve...no thanks , I can only imagine the mayhem and I'm sure there's money there but drunk revelers and camera lights, one fizzle and it's over.
Other possibilities how about a photo op with Princess Kate before her bump gets bigger , next Christmas it'll be to late, now thinking about it with our Green Screen service we could do that , might end up in the Tower of London but hey.

So it only leaves me to plug Costellophoto for all your Holiday events, call for rates , we'll work with your budget and give you fabulous memories and your moneys worth.

Photo biz truth ... Las Vegas Photographer

I found this on the web Via a friend of mine and it speaks volumes, as a professional photographer I often hear the words " I only want one of two pictures..." I know I'm in trouble and have a client who has no concept of value for talent or my time so seeing this I think all photographers should post this on their door or web page, it would probably be considered rude or un PC but it is true.
Take a moment to read :
I don't know who to credit for this but needless to say I whole heartily agree !
I could go no and bitch about camera phones , but what's the point , instead please forward to a friend who's a professional photographer or to your meeting planner who wants to get cheap and ends up giving you orange images and assuming that all people just have that healthy glow and you can fix it in Photoshop
So that being said lets make 2013  the YEAR OF THE PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER and leave our cell phones for making calls and our DLSR cameras on that green square (Fully auto) at home !

Superman , Batman and Wonder Woman save Vegas Photographer

What a remarkable evening in Vegas, warm and not too breezy , hell it's December already, by now it's usually cold ,blowing and even snow is not to unusual, after navigating Caesars Palace's parking and walking almost a 1/4 mile or most  my assistant ,Katie and I arrive to a small room decorated with Superman, Wonder Woman , and various other super heroes stuck on the walls, I am told this is decoration from our clients office, my assistant Katie immediately likes this crowd !
So even though the location is a little small we get to work and have our Green Screen set up, and soon enough our Talent show up, and I must say they looked the part and acted accordingly.

Add the Alcohol to the mix and a great time was had by all even rowdy elements as shown here were taken cared of !
This is a great example of just how popular Green Screen photography by Las Vegas Photographer Costellophoto can be .
We're looking forward to more Corporate parties this holiday season and beyond !

Las Vegas Photographer looks at the Holidays

2012 Holiday season is upon us, parties and and office gatherings  the inevitable photos will be trotted out  for embarrassing moments of indiscretion and awards given for best dressed , most valuable, and out standing in their field (someone let them back in it's cold out there ! ).
So it's ok to take your own photographs at the office party, but how about we put together a really special  green screen  photo event that every one will love , go home and show every one how cool their company is ,and instead of giving out lame unwanted gifts , here;'s some thing that will get valued and treasured for years to come, not only that but with the advent of social media we can now post their photographic  images at your office party in Las Vegas on Face book or other pages instantly. Now here's an Idea that really works, we make an 'overlay' that looks just like a popular magazine  and feature your company or office , with a unique back ground ! Think of this a the gift that keeps giving, as these images are passed around your company is giving a photographic impression , bringing your valued staff and products in to the consciousness of perhaps millions, either way holiday snaps can be used as promotional items and as gifts that are enjoyed and valued .
We can also take this to another photographic level, lets say Costellophoto books an event with Zappos for their party , we offer you access to all their employees by placing your logo on their photograph, and by sponsoring the photographic green screen image your party planner have one less cost but still getting a valued product.
Phew ! I hope all that makes some sense, there are so many Photographers in Las Vegas so incase you've not  found us before, let me give you a little history on Las Vegas's favorite photographer Costellophoto.
Owned and run by award winning photographer Don Parnall , a British lad who's been in business of Photography for over 30 years, spent some time working on Hollywood blockbusters  and national Television companies like HBO and BBC , a little radio broadcasting and now a citizen of Las Vegas for over 25 years, being a local resident with international clients , it's easy to be over looked as a Las Vegas Photographer, but as the financial climate changes Costellophoto is looking more to the local market to offer quality service with international award winning photographers with professional equipment ( and that last bit is so important) and experience not many can compete with .

Interesting things happen around this time of year, recently I was invited to be a judge at ESPN's bikini competition, now if you're thinking what a lucky guy, let me tell you how difficult it is to sit still and look at 150 women body builders and judge them fairly when you really don't understand female body building. For the most part these woman are way more in to chiseled  muscular looks than you fashion model would ever be, attraction for these women is I would say rather angular than the comfortable rounded form of a 'normal' woman's body. So by the time I and my fellow judges , two other photographers and a bunch of journalists had seen these women over two days I think we got it right and learnt how to score with out malice. This I will say  feathered wings are cool on Victoria Secret models , but more than one body builder it gets a little ridiculous, the other gripe I had was the camo bikini , just doesn't work gals, really.

Above out new logo for our new web page, Las Vegas photographer , we've redesigned the page so you only really need one page to tell the Costellophoto story as a Las Vegas Photographer and hopefully millions will see and enjoy our style of photography. to view this fabulous piece of HTML  you can click here  www.costellophoto.com or www.lasvegasphotographers.co. and you may call us at 702 459 3121 to talk about your upcoming photographic needs or green screen ideas even photographic advice, we have no secrets here , just here to help.

it's been 4 years of hell , a look back 2012

If you're like me, wondering what the hell is going to happen next in relation to the way we all make a living, I have and have various theories but I shall not bore you with them here...
I do think that it is imperative that we continue doing business and advertising, here are my reason why:
1. How is any one going to know you're still around.
2. Consider this a battle ground and you're the last one standing, who are they (your customers) going to buy from?
3.When the dust settles you need to show off your new line, thus commercial photography is needed.
4.Survival of the fittest, your competition may have disappeared off the face of the earth so now is the time to show your strength and resilience with a new add campaign.
5. Go to that Expo/ convention in Las Vegas have your Pictures taken by a professional photographer again to show the world you survived!
6.Public Relations is one of the best ways to get the word out that your company or association is reliable and alive, a new brochure with complimentary images showing confidence will increase sales and loyalty.

and I'd love nothing better than giving them a piece of my mind, perhaps with the business end of my heaviest tripod,

My company Costellophoto has like many taken some pretty hard knocks recently,we could have folded , I don't know what else I would do but fight and even turn this man made disaster in to a positive.
What we at Costellophoto have done is widen our scope, revamped our image, reinvested at a time when every one else is tightening up, I think that a positive attitude is every thing, I might add that last Monday 6th Oct 08 was probably one of the most desperate days I have ever witnessed, other than feeling hopeless and angry at the bankers and other financial institutions (Some of which were our clients) and I'd love nothing better than giving them a piece of my mind, perhaps with the business end of my heaviest tripod, I just had a vision of my company being the only one left in Las Vegas because we have the determination and imagination to find other avenues in photography.
Now this of course won't happen but do have the feeling that the market place is going to shrink rapidly, and as in banking that's not a bad thing.

"free your spirit of all material things" might be the way to go reluctantly but positively"

Also think about donating some time or services, we just spent and evening with a local Cancer charity www.fromtheheartcharity.org here in Las Vegas, other than making you realize that there are others who really need help way more than those being "Bailed out" it also gives your company exposure at the local level and make you feel just a little bit better.
We hope all of you reading this get energized and maybe not as drastic as on Monday and as the Buddha wrote "free your spirit of all material things" might be the way to go reluctantly but positively.

Holiday tips for photographers

Las Vegas photographers explain what really matters in life ......

Having been in this industry (convention photography) for more years than I want to admit to I often think that you the client often could use some help choosing your trade show photographer. My Company 'Costellophoto' www.costellophoto.com is based in Las Vegas, although we do travel all over the US, specializes in Convention and trade show photography, this is an important point, as this type of photography is not just point and shoot, our photographers are all journalistically trained or ex news photographers who are used to thinking on their feet and getting that shot that you, the client will love and just ans importantly your Art Director will use, the shot that makes that sparsely attended breakout meeting look full and the attendees look enthralled and attentive, crowded Isles when there are not as many attendees as you might like. I'm not going to explain how all this is done but it an art and with some practice and a good eye and plenty of experience it is all possible.
'your Art Director will use, the shot that makes that sparsely attended breakout meeting look full'
Now the age of digital photography is well and truly upon us new problems arise, you have all seen those blue pictures and dark orange images, well there really is no need for that to happen, good professional equipment is the key,but again experience is definitely a must, a combination of using and understanding your equipment , there are so many computations on todays cameras, aperture, asa (film speed or chip sensitivity) shutter speed, flash settings, it boggles the mind not to mention the speed of the lenses used. I'll explain that just a bit, inside the lens is an adjustable aperture basically it makes a hole bigger or smaller to let more light in smaller less light and so on, well lenses are rated on the most amount of light it will let in, an F4.5 lens will let in less light than an f2.8 lens thats the rating system , practically if you are going to be shoot in the average ballroom or meeting room your not going to have an enormous amount of light, so you need a lens that can operate in low light conditions and still give you sharp color correct images and that would be a lens rated at F2.8 or less, these lenses are of professional quality and not cheap, but they do give you exceptional quality when used correctly. It’s unwise to pay too much, but it’s worse to pay too little. John Ruskin had this to say over 100 years ago on the topic: It’s unwise to pay too much, but it’s worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money, that’s all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot -- it can’t be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that, you will have enough to pay for something better. I think the above says it all. Hope fully you have viewed our website www.costellophoto.com and enjoyed some of our images of keynote speakers, award ceremonies, Convention booths and trade show floors, and the industrial side of Costellophoto, the catalog shots, and corporate head shots. Our corporate photography has been published world wide and featured on many a front page and glossy magazine cover. We are proud of our quality and continue to upgrade our equipment and learn new techniques in a process that never ends.
